Holiday Rush

I've been really busy the past days until Christmas because I was loaded with lots of orders. I was baking non-stop and as I look back, I don't how I was able to manage it all. I made a total of 16 cakes in 5 days (then there was one more cake order on the next day). In the last two days alone I made 11 cakes. There were some last minute orders and of the 16 cakes, I added the cake that my hubby brought to their xmas party and then also our own cake for our noche buena. I was totally knackered. To say I'm tired is an understatement. Here are some photos of the cake orders. I will post more pictures soon as we haven't transferred the ones from my hubby's camera. 'Hope they'll do for now.

Super moist chocolate cake with custard filling covered in chocolate ganache and decorated with mocha buttercream, chocolate stars and honeycomb bits.

Welcome to my Other Blog (& How It All Started)

I have created this blog to show my made-to-order cake creations. My friends have been requesting me for as long as I can remember to start making cakes and sell them as I have posted some photos of my tempting treats through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and my original blog. I have politely declined several times although I would usually bake for them upon request or I usually bring them a cake during their birthdays. I always feel not very confident about my baking (and decorating) skills and it just puts too much pressure on me. After a bit of convincing (and words of support) from my hubby, I finally gave in.

My baking skills are only self-taught and I learn new things as I go along. I am also trying to improve on my icing skills and now that I have some available cakes to order, I have tried to make them more presentable and less home made (hopefully).

This all started when I made a black forest cake (my first attempt actually) after I decided to make use of the left-over cherries from my upside-down cake. I then tried out some fancy decoration and posted a photo of my hard work. The rest is history. I never expected that it would lead to this.

I hope that this new chapter and opportunity will be an exciting and fulfilling experience for me. For now, it is just for the holiday season then we'll see from there.
