New Cakes for Summer (or what's left of it)

This blog has been silent for a while, the bakery was still busy but the baker just didn't have the time to blog (excuses, excuses...I know). At least with the absence, I was able to come up with more creations for you to enjoy.

I finally tried this most requested cake and I have to say this is one of my favourites too. 

And I've come up (yet again) with another chocolate cake variation and this time with a shiny, rich icing. A bit of a challenge when frosting as it really flows but it really melts in your mouth. 

The Crazy Birthday Weekend

I didn't even know how I managed to make all these birthday cakes but I did. This kicked off the start of the birthday season (I can feel as there were loads of birthday party invitations and also gifts to give). The highlight was my first time to make a three-layer cake (sort of), it was amateurish but I still managed to pull it off. Not bad for my first time. Of course it wasn't really three-tier as I used this floating tier-style cake board which is highly recommended for first timers (because I'm not sure if I can make three layers which won't fall off, I don't want to take the risk). I'm also trying to improve on my lettering as I wanted to give a personal touch on my cakes especially for those celebrating their birthdays but I know I'm getting there.

I will post a better picture of the three-layer cake when I got the pics from hubby's digital SLR.

May & June Orders

Sorry it's been really busy and I was not able to post lately...of course, it's business as usually. I still haven't posted the recent cakes I had. I will try to post them this week as this is the start of the "birthday season" including my daughter's first birthday. 'Hope everyone's enjoying the British summer (which doesn't really happen most days lol).
