Mothers of March

March started with our birthdays (yes me and hubby's - we're just a day apart) and Mother's Day. I had three orders of Black Forest cake (looks like I'm making the same cakes each month) for UK Mother's Day. These are three different cakes. :)

I added the Mother's Day toppers for the three cakes. 

February Carrot Cake Overload

Sorry for the late post, as usual I'm busy with motherly tasks and the usual. I made a total of 5 carrot cakes for this month (including 1 for early March but under the last February week so I still consider it as Feb). Two of the cakes were for friends' birthdays so they were not considered as orders and I was not able to take photos of them as they were made very last minute.

Here are the three orders of carrot cakes:

This was for a wedding anniversary so I added the cake topper. 

Both were made the same week. To explain the different carrot cake decorations, Sainburys ran out of the decorations so I had to order the others online. 

New & Improved Moist Chocolate Cake

An update on the boxes - they have arrived last week which is exactly one week from dispatch date. I ended up emailing the company and they said they should've arrived and I should check with my local sorting office.  If there is no luck, I can let them know again. But before I was able to call the sorting office (which I had a hard time looking for their number that actually works), the boxes and cake boards have arrived.

Now enough of the ranting. I have another order this month for a chocolate cake and here is my improved version and new look. As per feedback, I lessened the dark chocolate flavor on the frosting. I still have to put a bit of dark chocolate though to give it's desired deep chocolate color. Also in the background is the new cake box design. Unfortunately, my signature cake boxes are no longer available for my desired size but the cake boxes are equally fabulous. It's probably a good time to have a new look for the cake box since it's the new year.
